Send Jeanne Shaheen to the Senate

If your next-door neighbor asks for help, you come to their aid.

So when Former Governor Jeanne Shaheen asked me to campaign with her in New Hampshire over the weekend, I couldn't wait to pay a visit to Vermont's neighbor to the east and lend a helping hand.  She's locked in an extremely tight race for U.S. Senate against a well-entrenched Republican incumbent, and needs all the help she can get to win this November.

Like so many parts of the country, New Englanders have come to reject the Bush-Cheney-McCain approach to governance -- and they're rejecting their Republican enablers in Congress as well.  In fact, for the first time in my political career, I can count the number of New England Republicans in Congress on just one hand.  But the GOP sees New Hampshire as one of its last opportunities to maintain relevance in the Northeast, and will do everything they can to keep New Hampshire in their column.
